Cart Curator #78 - And then there was one...
The TikTok creator who is a must follow for any interior lover, a Notting Hill newbie and an unexpected salty snack that will have you off your phone.
Hey friends,
Jess here…
This might be a bit of a surprise to most of you but one of my best friends and most importantly the other half of CC, Nicole, is devastatingly taking a step back from Cart Curator.
While we are both obviously so sad about this news, it is, in fact, due to very positive things happening in her life, so we can’t actually be that upset!
Now, coming to you solo will be a change and something I will need to get used to over the coming weeks and months. However, I’m excited to continue sharing all things shopping and culture with you and see how CC will continue to grow and evolve.
In this transitional period, I would love to hear what you love reading and what isn’t hitting the spot for you.
Enjoy,
Jess x

Pointelle
Pointelle isn’t necessarily a new trend, but we have been seeing its popularity increase over the past couple of years. You can even see a friend of CC, Isobel Larkin, mention Cou Cou Intimates in her collaboration issue with us here.
For me, this trend strikes the perfect balance between being really feminine and giving girl next door vibes and being a bit more sexy with its often sheerer white fabrication usually reserved for underwear.
If you’ve seen this trend all over your FYP you would know that less can be more when it comes to styling this basic, and all you need to make it work are some wardrobe staples like a baggy jean and a classic loafer. However, if you are still stumped, Australian creator Rachelle Rowlings is an ideal source of inspiration and someone I love to refer back to.
Her outfits see pieces (like pointelle items) styled in really unexpected ways like the below outfit which mixes the fabric with a leather corset turning what could be interpreted as underwear into a feminine and soft detail that pairs back the harsher style of the corset. In numerous other pieces of her content, you can see pieces from Cou Cou Intimates mixed into her wardrobe being paired with everything from knits to bikinis to jeans.
If you’re still stuck for inspo take a look at some of my favourite outfits below as well as the pieces to have on your radar whether you are heading into autumn or spring.

Dr. Marten Maybole Chelsea Boot
Finding a pair of boots for Winter has been surprisingly difficult and I have already purchased and returned numerous styles from everything from high to low priced brands with no luck in finding something that combines comfort, quality, and price.
I previously owned Dr. Martens in my festival going days and they are the comfiest and longest lasting boots I have ever owned and now having discovered this new style from the brand I feel like these could be the pair for me.
Obviously, these are all leather which is a non negotiable for me but I love how this style is a more updated Chelsea boot with squared off toe (love) and an angular (and tiny) heel that stops these from being completely flat which I feel isn’t the best look on me.
I have seen so many cool girls styling transitional outfits with casual white trousers/pants pairing them with everything from a neutral knit to the ‘it’ coat of the upcoming AW25 season, the barn jacket. I’ve previously owned white linen drawstring pants but obviously, these aren’t going to cut it in terms of any warmth but also for looking cohesive with warmer items like knits.
I went on a bit of a hunt for some of the options currently available including the COS Barrel-Leg Cotton Trousers which are actually a beautiful fit and look but definitely more suitable for someone shorter than my 5’11”. Eventually, I landed on this pair from Adanola which are stunningly long making them perfect for me. The fabric of these is a bit heavier leaning more into a rigid chino which is so perfect for this time of year and I have had to restrain myself from wearing these every day.
You can see some of the ways I have styled these below.

I have been served ads for prints from this artist so many times and bravo because it’s working. The original ad was for a giant version of this however I love the chaos and colours of this print and in trying to switch up the look and feel of my room a bit I feel like this could be a very welcome addition to a space that is currently a bit too matchy matchy for my liking.
I have been taking guidance from my new favourite TikTok home styling guru that you can see under Consumables below.

Updo Natural Bristle Brush
I may be the last person to purchase a natural bristle brush specifically for slick back hairstyles, but if you are also in this still yet-to-purchase category - you need to do so immediately. I was also a late adopter of wearing slick back styles due to childhood dance-associated PTSD however being in the throes of growing out my bob it has become something of a necessity.
This brush works so well with my sick back product of choice, the OUAI Matte Pomade, and makes smoothing and sticking hair down unbelievably easy. Additionally, if you purchase a smaller brush it is so handy for taking in your bag with you to stick down any flyaways on the go.
One to Try
Recent openings and discoveries.
Getting in early with this one buttttt, Canteen Notting Hill opened this Monday and I have eagerly been counting down for its opening since hearing the news of its pending arrival. It comes from the creators of The Pelican (also in Notting Hill) and has a daily changing menu of pasta, seafood - pretty much whatever is coming from their farm.
This location is walk-in only which I actually love as getting a booking in London can often be an affair that takes months of planning.
Lottery Win
A girl can dream.
I feel that I never fully jumped on the Jill Sander bandwagon, and for this reason, I am not entirely sure but when I was strolling around Selfridges last week I spotted this bag and became fixated. First of all, loving it in red is so rogue for me but the combination of the red and the rolled cannolo shaped body just feels so right.
I love seeing this styled as a more cross-body style bag and can imagine it styled with a myriad of simple outfits which is my forte and probably part of the appeal for me.
You can also entirely remove the chunkier strap to make it a clutch which I feel is giving you a 2-for-1 when it comes to this kind of investment.
Consumables
What we can’t stop binging.
I landed on Alice’s content when a carousel she did on spacing wall art showed up on my FYP page (something I have actually tried to look at Pinterest/Google for guidance on before). The commentary and styling inspo she provides is so perfect and leans more into educational vs copy these exact products to have a nicely styled bedroom, bathroom, etc. which I love and often feel I get too caught up on buying the exact sheets or products I have seen someone style.
If you love interiors or maybe need some help giving your space a refresh give this growing creator a follow!

Roasted and Salted Sunflower Seeds
I was only introduced to these on my recent trip to Turkey and these are my absolute new snack obsession. I have done my research and these are available from multiple stores/brands so you should be able to source them no matter where you are.
Some of you may have tried these before but for those who haven’t they are whole roasted sunflower seeds that have a salted outside and you need to break the seeds open to get the kernel inside. To break these open you need to break the shell with your teeth which has a bit of a trick to it but while you are doing so you get the hit of salt from the outside which then combines with the nutty kernel on the inside and they are just heaven.
As a bonus, these are the dream snacks to eat while binging TV as breaking them open gives you something to do with your hands/focus on instead of scrolling on your phone.
