Cart Curator #77 - Feeling A Bit Beady?
A bachelorette ready lottery win, the new dress of the Summer and the pop-up shop you need to visit this weekend.
Hi CC friends,
Nic, had a stacked weekend which of course included watching the Brisbane Lions dominate the AFL Grand Final.
She also visited her wedding venue on the weekend (exactly 12 months out to the date to suss the greenery and weather as you do).
Jess is getting back into London life while she continues to recover from her cold. The heating in my apartment building has just been switched on which means Summer is officially over and fall is well and truly here.
Enjoy,
You Asked For It
Lately large beaded jewellery items have been having such a moment and this weeks YAFI comes in the form of recommended pieces to incorporate into a Spring/Summer wardrobe and beyond.
Starting off we have the Casa Clara Flynn Necklace which has tortoise shell/amber toned beads making this piece the perfect into to this chunkier jewellery trend. Something leaning more into earthy tones is perfect for wearing with black, white or nearly any colour palette. This piece being on the neutral side would make it perfect for wearing this trend in a more corporate environment.
This next piece is my (Jess) absolute favourite as the Paloma Wool Mirabella Necklace is just so different from the other pieces that are currently out there. Made up of multiple different types of beads, patterns and colours this necklace is just so interesting. I love the idea of pairing this with another statement earring and going for more is more, wether that be something else beaded or a chunkier gold pair. This necklace is definitely on my wish list for Summer.
Lastly we have the Sézane Danae Necklace in a green/mint/turquoise shade perfect for Summer pairing seamlessly with white and a tan. Sézane have a range of great jewellery pieces at a price point that isn’t too bad at all. This style also comes in a range of colours including some more subtle shades like ecru but I definitely think the key with this trend is to go for something bolder to match the eye grabbing size and style of the beads.

Aimé Leon Dore Embroidered Logo Hat
London’s persistent rain is seeing my hat collection grow at a rapid rate in an attempt to both conceal and protect my hair. Caps are a surprisingly difficult thing to buy especially if your head is on the smaller side like mine however after trying this (and every other style) on in store I can confirm the fit of this is stunning - I find even better than Ralph Lauren or P.Johnson which are current staples for me. As the case is with anything from Aimé Leon Dore - she is definitely on the pricey side however accessories are the one thing that I can justify spending neary unjustifiable amounts of money on due to the sheer volume of wear you get out of them so definitely look at this as more of an investment.
I look at this dress longingly as I sit indoors and watch the rain come down in a wool jumper. However if you are currently in AUS (or somewhere also going into warmer weather) this dress is for you and the many upcoming long lunches and nights out. LPA always does the cutest dresses and occasionwear and this timeless piece will see you through this Summer and potentially Euro Summer next year.
You can’t see in this image but the dress is also backless which is such a beautiful feminine detail to counteract the higher and seemingly more conservative neckline.
Nicole
Before I jump into my Add to Cart recs, I just had to share this TikTok that friend of CC Sophie shared with me earlier this week. Essentially, we were having internet conversations (read: back of forth sharing of related TikTok’s), about how everyone is dressing the same / brands are just all releasing version of the same beige casual workwear (sorry DISSH, we’re looking at you).
Recession fashion or not, I’m leading with this as the weather gets warmer to invite people (or challenge myself really) to HAVE FUN when dressing up. Ok, into the recs.
A very niche one for me this week, but I was scrolling Mango on The Iconic and came across this very fun fan. If you’ve ever travelled Europe in Summer you know just how much of an essential a fan is (especially if you’re battling the undergrounds in London or Paris…), and I’m on a mission to bring their prominence to Aus this summer.
Have you seen a more chic way to keep yourself cool?
I’m a long time fan of Australian brand Beare Park (well, as long as they have been around since launching in 2021), and have followed the brand closely - both personally and crossing paths professionally.
Obsessed with how simple, but impactful this tee is. I’m loving the longer sleeve on a short-sleeve tee at the moment, and to fight millennial stereotype I’m trying to style my t-shirts without tucking them in.

Aveeno Clarify & Shine + Apple Cider Vinegar Blend Shampoo and Conditioner
London's cost of living has me exploring cheaper alternatives to a lot of my products and I decided to give this duo a try after a lot of recommendations + I was already a fan of some of their existing body products in AUS. This Clarifying shampoo and conditioner makes my hair feel sooo soft and works really well to cleanse hair of any built up hair product (cc OUAI Matte Pomade).
This shampoo and conditioner also smells soo good which I feel is surprising given anything with oat usually has an interesting smell… I have been trialling this combo over the past few months and will definitely be repurchasing as soon as I have used both of them up which I feel is a rarity for me when it comes to hair products.

Vitamin C is one ingredient that my skin just can not handle, despite trying many many different formulations.
I’m not super sensitive by any means, but it ALWAYS breaks me out, which means I’m hesitant to try yet another brand that promises it won’t. That was until I was introduced to The Sircle, a new Australian skincare brand born out of Tasmania and founded by a ground of doctors and nurses, where one of the founding doctors assured me at the launch event that she had she same struggle and purposely formulated their AM moisuriser with this in mind.
So far, so good - I’ve had zero irritation or break outs - and my skin is looking brighter after a few days of use.

First Colours x Oatly Pop-Up Shop
This weekend First Colours is hosting a Melbourne Pop-Up in collaboration with none other than Oatly. Anyone attending the pop up will be able to shop some of First Colours’ new arrivals as well as archive pieces and enjoy dairy free refreshments from Oatly.
We’re v sad that obviously neither of us will be attending but I (Jess) am seriously considering picking up this wrap top for Summer next year so go and see these pieces in person on my behalf!
The pop-up will be running from the 4th - 6th of October at 313 Victoria Road, Brunswick VIC and you can see more info on First Colours IG below.

Rabanne Asymmetric Fringed Chainmail Top
Tell me (Jess) this wouldn’t be the most amazing piece for a hens party outfit. I’ve never really been drawn to Rabanne pieces in the past (yes this includes the H&M collab) however this piece is just so fun and just as many other styles doesn’t take itself too seriously. My dream is to attend a friends bachelorette that has an ABBA theme (stay tuned Nicole) and this piece fits into my vision so seamlessly that I may have to take a look at that H&M collection after all.

Piglet by Lottie Hazell
I (Nic) have mentioned how ferocious of a reader I am. Last year my NY resolution was to read a book a week, a goal I achieved, but only made easy by just how many good books I picked up in 2023.
2024 has not been the same, I feel like I’ve picked up a slew of books that I’ve struggled to get through, many ending up in the DNF (did not finish for the new to the reading world) pile.
Only two books have stood out for me this year, Bri Lee’s The Work and this rec - Piglet by Lottie Hazell. I’m about ⅔ of the way through, and despite being incredibly busy (bore, I know - everyone is busy blah blah), I find myself going out of my way to find time to read this book.
IYKYK
Super specific recs and niche hyper-fixations.
EasyJet Compensation Claims
Okay so I recently had a friend bring compensation claims to my attention after complaining about a recent delayed flight out of Turkey. She herself had received back a sum totalling more than the cost of her ticket due to a flight delay so I thought I would give this a go myself and what do you know £350 back on a flight that was worth a third of that.
This is definitely something to keep in mind if you just had any delays during your 2024 Euro Summer or plan to fly with any of the European airlines in the future. Don’t quote me on this but I believe the key is that the delay needs to be the airlines fault e.g. mechanical, engineering etc. and it can’t be due to weather or anything out of the airlines control but well worth looking into nonetheless.
