Cart Curator #75 - Swimwear that makes a splash
The swimwear brands to stand out, justifying pyjamas as clothes and an OG beauty favourite.
Hi CC friends,
Nic spent the weekend back home in Brisbane for a very special 30th and catching up with family.
Jess is coming to you from Turkey where she has been spending time with family as well and is enjoying some much needed sunshine and time by the water.
Enjoy,
You Asked For It
Our You Asked For It this week comes from a CC reader who is chasing chic swimwear brands that aren’t your usuals (Triangl etc etc).
Our first suggestion is Palm Swimwear, an Australian luxury swimwear brand. Their range is focused on good quality basics in flattering cuts, that you can mix and match.
My (Nic) recommendation would be their classic Gigi Pleated Top worn with the matching Gigi Bottom.
If you want something to make you stand out on the beach, then Jaded London is going to be more your vibe. Think bold (and teeny) cuts, fun fabrications and vintage inspired fits. My pick would have to be the Carina stripe set.
For our third suggestion, we just couldn’t go past Monday Swimwear. Known for their uber flattering styles and high quality pieces, this is one of those influencer founded brands that actually makes sense.
Aside from having great swimwear, Monday does an excellent array of cover-ups and accessories to complete your looks.
We aren’t going to leave you with just three, so throwing in some runner ups:
Hunza G - A classic for a reason
Bamba Swim - Cute, cute, cute
Asta Resort - Fun fabrications and details
Faithfull - Simple and luxurious
Cleonie - Serving Italian Summer

Since being in Turkey I have become obsessed with silver jewellery (as has much of the internet) and have picked up quite a few pieces. These earrings from Mejuri have been on my radar after seeing a sponsored post on TikTok featuring this pair and they are such an elevated basic that look perfect for everyday wear. What makes these even better is that you can purchase different loops that can be switched out changing up the look of these.
Laneway The Label Vintage Cotton Gown in Ivory
Who doesn’t love a bit of pyjamas as clothes and this cotton gown from Laneway The Label strikes the perfect balance of airy cotton dress and nightgown chic. Laneway The Label has some beautiful cotton pieces and I’m kicking myself for not picking this up before moving overseas but given the warmer weather in AUS, this item would be the perfect transitional piece coming into Spring. I dream of pairing this with a cardigan, loafers, and black wayfarer sunglasses for a v cool girl meets grandma chic look.

Don’t come for me on the price point on these, but I truly think this sandal is going to be the style of the season.
Made from Italian leather, I just know that this sandal would be one of the most versatile pieces that you can wear both to work and on the weekends. Essén is a new brand to me, but one that is definitely on my radar now.
I’ve owned a pair of these in black for years, but feel it’s time to add the white colourway into rotation.
Aside from being very affordable, these are such a versatile piece that I find myself reaching for both during the week for work (style with an oversized button up) or on the weekend (plain t-shirt, sandals and a baseball cap).
Uniqlo’s e-commerce site (and imagery) is more functional than fashionable, so if you need more convincing on the chic-ness of this cut, head into the store to be swayed.

Calling anyone who has brown or hazel eyes, this may be the prettiest eyeliner for enhancing your eye colour and overall making them pop. I’ve always found it difficult when creating a nighttime eye look that calls for some eyeliner as black just looks so harsh on anyone that is a bit fairer but this deep red eyeliner from MAC gives the darkness and depth of a black however the deep red shade catches and brings out the browns and hazels in eyes.

This is one of my OG beauty products that I have purchased and repurchased for over 12 years now (wah, that sounds so old). I’d deviated for a few years with the Kosas Revealer Concealer, but after battling with it’s more cakey formula (sorry), I have gone back to my trusted faithful and OMG why did I not do this earlier.
I’m a spot concealer girl - I don’t need to lighten and brighten, I just need to cover any small imperfections flawlessly - and this does exactly that. The formula feels more like a highly pigmented foundation than a concealer to me (if that makes sense), which means I can easily use it all over my face.
One to Try
Recent openings and discoveries.
The Walrus Oyster Bar, Melbourne
Surely the name is enough to tip you off why this Melbourne spot has made it into One To Try.
Located in St Kilda, The Walrus’s main attraction is - of course - freshly shucked oysters, with several different oyster options on the daily. Pair it with a crisp vino from their list of beaut wines.
The perfect summer spot.
Lottery Win
A girl can dream.
Tell me this isn’t the cutest bag you’ve ever seen.
I (Jess) love seeing this new style from Fendi that is something a bit different from their most popular styles including the iconic Baguette Bag. This mini reminds me a lot of the Loewe Puzzle Bag silhouette but still feels quite fresh and new, especially in this colourway and smooth calfskin leather.
Consumables
What we can’t stop binging.
If you haven’t started watching this yet, what are you doing?! Nicole Kidman plays another iteration of every other TV role she’s played - a rich white woman in a coastal town is rocked by a murder. It’s giving Big Little Lies, meets The White Lotus (with many cast member crossovers). Honestly - it's the perfect formula.
I (Nic) also can’t get enough of the opening dance sequence, which I think should now be a necessary opener for all TV shows.
Side note from Jess: I binged this entire show in an afternoon/evening - obsessed.
IYKYK
Super specific recs and niche hyper-fixations.
If you aren’t using the Grammarly extension - what are you doing?
This easy plug-in honestly saves me (Nic) so much time, and makes sure that any email I send or any document I write (yes, including Cart Curator) is free of any spelling or grammatical errors.
You simply have to download the file and add it as an extension to your browser and then it just automatically checks as you go. It has also an AI function that can read emails and draft responses for you, which can be a great starting point if there is one of those mammoth emails in your inbox that you just don’t know where to start drafting a response too. Note, everyone can tell when AI has written an email… so always use it as a starting point to help clarify a response.
