Cart Curator #76 - Don't Sleep on this Trend
How to wear the nightgown look (without the frump), the bronzer your other bronzers wishes they were and a choccie treat.
Hi CC friends,
Jess has just returned to London and has been greeted by some very gloomy weather + a cold (did someone say post holiday blues) and will be bingeing The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives until further notice.
Nic is finishing up at her job this week (!), and has honestly never been busier. Between planning a wedding (again - !) and social commitments (look, no complaints), she is ready to lean into summer and just lay on the beach each and every weekend.
Enjoy,
You Asked For It
Over the past year or so we have seen a rise in the popularity of nightwear as daywear dressing with styles like bloomers, pointelle and nightgowns hitting the streets. This week’s YAFI is for nightgown inspired dresses for spring and there are so many beautiful options floating around at the moment from both local AUS and international brands.
First up we have the Laneway The Label Vintage Cotton Mini and I (Jess) believe that I have included the maxi version of this dress in CC before but this mini is just such a relaxed piece that would be right at home, styled more classically with a fisherman sandal or for something more cooler temp friendly with a cardigan and a loafer and socks.
This next option is the VRG GRL Viola Linen Tunic and can we just start by saying VRG GRL are continuing to launch some stunning pieces coming into spring! This option is a bit of a heavier linen fabric vs the usual light cotton we see from these styles but it works in this style’s favour adding to the boxy babydoll look of the tunic.
Our next option is one from local brand Deiji Studios. Their range toes the line between pyjamas and daywear, in the best way possible. The Babylock Dress is made from organic cotton poplin (superior) and has the cutest details with the ruffled neckline, button front and slight pleats (so you don’t look like a sack).
Last but definitely not least (especially when it comes to price) we have the Helsa Voile Daylight Nightgown which is so beautiful and ethereal. I love exactly how this piece has been styled in the image below pairing the sheer cotton number with the unexpected black trousers and ballet flats. Alternatively, this piece would be great for throwing over a bikini mid holiday as a cover up.

Is this a ridiculous price to pay for a plain black mini skirt - well yes. Am I convinced there is no other skirt that fits like this - I would have to say the answer is yes again. I feel that many of us may have experienced the frustration of trying to find just a plain black mini skirt, which shouldn’t be that hard right? But you want one that is a true mini with no chance of flashing, one that hugs the hips but doesn’t lean into a 2010 Supré vibe, and one that can just be that wardrobe staple. This is the one.
The skirt itself has built in undies meaning no chance of flashing anyone whilst wearing it and in my thorough research of this topic this skirt looks to have the perfect kick out from the hips, making it feel like a true mini vs a bandage skirt.
Marge Sherwood Soft Baguette Bag
As it’s coming into Winter (a bit too quickly I might add) I have been thinking about investing in a bag that can be a bit more of an occasion/fun bag vs a carry all like the one I’m currently using from Etsy. This Marge Sherwood style is such a cute bowling bag meets baguette style and is very similar to a few of the current styles from Miu Miu.
Available in a range of colours perfect for all year round the deep chocolate suede has me fixated and so sure that this is going to be the perfect purchase. Given the designer alternatives to this style the price is really reasonable for it being all leather and having seen many reviews online the quality seems to be super impressive.

This choker has a chokehold on me. Perfectly chunky, this style of chain is super unique and has been inspired by watch links and is subtly made to look like it has been melted by the sun.
I’m a gold girl, but it is the silver version that I think will be making its way into my cart on this occasion.
I also love styling OTT jewellery with simple outfits - even beachwear/swimmers - and this is the exact kind of piece to do this with.
AERE Kira Linen Resin Trim Dress
AERE (one of The Iconic’s in house brands) is very underrated - at least in my opinion. They always drop an excellent range of seasonal pieces that are both simple and stylish, and give off a slight DISSH aesthetic.
We’re into linen seasonality now in Australia, and I was scrolling through The Iconic to find some easy chuck on linen pieces when this dress popped up. The green resin detailing is very subtle, put could be amped up with some matching resin bangles - like these affordable ones from Rubi - to turn this look into a full outfit.

Makeup by Mario Softsculpt® Transforming Skin Enhancer
I want to start by saying I have honestly never tried a more impressive product in my life. I had seen this mentioned all over TikTok of late and in a moment of hating my makeup and every product I own (dramatic much) I decided to pick this up from Sephora in shade medium after seeing promises of the most natural contour/bronzed appearance and suitability for applying messily and being then able to blend so easily. All of these claims and more are true, and this product seems too good to be true.
I had previously been a die-hard fan of the Chanel cream bronzer however this Makeup by Mario formula seriously outdoes itself with its sheer formula that gives a beautiful sheen of colour while still being transparent enough not to look cakey or create a harsh line against anywhere it hasn’t been applied. I could rave on about this product forever but lastly, I will just say for anyone lazy or not the most confident with doing their makeup this product is so perfect for swiping across temples, eyelids, nose, cheeks - anywhere and it will look perfect with little to no effort.

Kora Organics Minty Mineral Hydration Mist
Aside from the Mario Badescu phase (we allllll went through it), I’ve never been a big mist girl - especially not in my skincare routine.
That being said, after receiving this Hydration Mist from Miranda Kerr’s Kora Organics (a brand I will always have a soft spot for), I’ve been very much enjoying this part of my routine. After cleansing I’ll spritz this all over, then following with a heavy dose of a Hyaluronic Acid serum (of course), and it just leaves such a plump base for my make-up.
The scent is also minty, which I’m definitely not used to in my skincare, but I will say it's very refreshing and I’ve gotten used to it pretty quickly.
One to Try
Recent openings and discoveries.
Getting a bit woo-woo here, but Healing is a newly opened “Red Light Therapy” centred space in Bondi (I mean, where else right?). You’ve probably tried Red Light at your facialist, in a sauna - or perhaps even invested in the Dr Dennis Gross mask (bougie!), so why not go all in with a full wellness treatment.
Their services range from full body red light therapy treatments to semi-private pilates, yoga and other mindfulness classes.
If you’re doing it for your face, why not your body?
Lottery Win
A girl can dream.
We’ve waxed on, at length, about how much we love the East West bag (I mean, Jess featured one above), and this Alaïa is such a perfect take on this style.
I (Nic) love just how structured the handle is, and the inconspicuous branding makes it an IYKYK moment. It also feels like red isn’t going anywhere as the colour of the moment, and is proving time and time again to be a colour that is so easy to work into an outfit.
Consumables
What we can’t stop binging.
If like me (Nic), you’re obsessed with all things brand and pop culture colliding, then this is the Instagram to get your scroll on through.
From the latest Erewhon collaboration to celebrity brand partnerships (i.e. the Kacey Musgraves x Reformation range that has us in a chokehold), it you want to be in the know of what’s happening in the brand space - this is where to go.
IYKYK
Super specific recs and niche hyper-fixations.
Bonne Maman Hazelnut Chocolate Spread
I (Nic) received this randomly in one of my weekly Marley Spoon deliveries (which could be an IYKYK on its own) one week, which is how I was introduced to this magic.
I've never been a big Nutella fan, which some would find odd considering I am a FIEND for chocolate, but something about chocolate on bread just never sat right to me.
So when one day I was having one of those choc cravings, I got a spoon and just ate it directly from jar and OMG - insane. This has now become such an easy treat for me, I dip in at the afternoon slump or for a post-dinner treatie.
