Cart Curator #65 - Witchery and Love Potions
Move over Tunacado there's a new fave in town, a Miu Miu-esque loafer and two must-have fragrances.
Hi CC friends,
Nic and Jess finally reunited in London with drinks and dinner at Carlotta with some other AU expats.
Nic has since moved on to Wales in full relaxation and family mode before she Eurostar’s off to Paris and Jess has just signed a lease for an apartment in London so is busy planning the new bedroom aesthetic.
Until next week.
Enjoy,
The Edit
Witchery is a brand that I (Nic) typically associated with corporate wear, so it has come as a surprise just how fashion-led their recent collections have been.
Their recent winter drop is polished, and made to form a capsule wardrobe with high-quality fabrications. Price points are mid-range, but very important to note the fabrications are all natural - wool, cotton - which is sadly becoming rarer and rarer in these higher-end brands.
Starting off with the style of the season, the Bubble Skirt. Their take is slightly more adult than some of the other versions I’ve seen, so you can style this up for your 9-5.
Next up is a denim set that I’ve got my eye on. The Denim Crop Shacket and the matching High Rise Pleat Front Jean both in an Indigo Denim work just as well on their own as they do worn together.
Up next is their Jersey Wrap Top, which is one of those slightly elevated basics that you will find yourself reaching for time and time again. Because you can’t go wrong with a nice T-shirt and jeans.
Our next favourite is the Waist Detail Pant, a classic wool trouser with a different coloured band to add some interest. Perfect for the office.
Lastly, we have several accessory options in the chunky Noa Cuff and the Cleo Large Stud earrings. Don’t be afraid to mix and match with silver and gold. The final pick is this Black Romy Medium Hobo Bag, which is the perfect size to carry everything on the daily, without looking ludicrously capacious. One note is the 100% polyurethane and polyester make-up, but at the price, you can turn a blind eye.

Glassons has just launched a collaboration with Sydney brand Five by Flynn and there are several cute pieces in the collection but this green knit top caught my eye (anything green is always bound to) with its sweetheart neckline and thicker knit straps.
If you’re into a matching moment the collab also includes a knit cardigan in the same shade which gives KHAITE vibes and would be perfect for wearing with jeans this Winter.
I love a loafer at the moment and in particular the super pricey Miu Miu Penny Loafer had been on my radar as the new higher-end style to watch taking over from the Gucci Horsebit.
This dupe from H&M definitely caught my eye and feels quite early in the trend cycle for them to be jumping on. Either way, this loafer is a super reasonable item to add an expensive look to any casual outfit and works well with jeans and a white tee as well as something more dressy for a work environment like tailored pants and a knit.

& Other Stories Crew Neck T-Shirt
We’ve mentioned this exact t-shirt before, but it is without a doubt the best cut and quality basic t-shirt on the market so it always deserves a spot on CC IMO.
Whenever I travel I always pick up several of these so thought it was befitting to include this week as I recently purchased a cream (linked) and grey version of this shirt whilst quickly popping into London last weekend.
This is one of those rare basics that washes and wears well, and despite now owning several (. about 10 at this point) in a variety of colours, I’ve yet to throw one out with my oldest now being almost 2.5 years old.
Veja Volley Suede-Trimmed Leather Sneakers
As we’ve mentioned before on CC, I just can’t get around the Adidas Sambas, but thanks to their popularity over the last few years a bunch of other sneaker brands have taken inspiration from their style.
These Veja sneakers are currently top of my wishlist as I look to replace my very well-worn pair of Autry’s. I love how unique they are, but also simple enough to be able to style them with practically everything I own.
I’m also eyeing the black versions…

Jo Malone x Paddington Orange Marmalade Cologne
This new collab from Jo Malone and Paddington may be the cutest thing I have ever seen and the scent is soooo fresh and zesty. I’m currently trying to use all my willpower to prevent myself from purchasing this. I’m a lover of the Jo Malone Orange Blossom scent and this smells similar but even better as it’s missing the floral and sweeter aspect.
If the scent wasn’t enough the launch video is so cute and I’m just obsessed with everything about this nostalgic collab. Even if you aren’t a Paddington fan I definitely recommend going to at least test this one out in person.

Charlotte Tilbury Love Frequency Perfume
I’m a big Charlotte Tilbury fan, so when she dropped her first range of fragrances I was instantly intrigued. Especially when I watched the unhinged launch post on Instagram that describes them as being “powered by ground-breaking innovation” combining the “theory of colour, numerologists, cutting-edge technology, science and 40 years of research” that uses “emotion-boosting molecules”. I mean, how could you not need to smell them?
I was a little sceptical with the over-marketing and the potion like bottles but OMG these are incredible. Love Frequency, which I purchased, and More Sex - sadly sold out - were my two favourites.
After I sprayed a tester on my hand I couldn’t stop sniffing myself. You can’t smell these in person in Aus at Mecca (yet) but just trust me - purchase these. They also come in a 10ml so you can purchase with less commitment.
One to Try
Recent openings and discoveries.
This Melbourne wine bar has earned itself a spot on our must try list based purely on the potato cakes (below) addition to the menu - I mean what could be better than this delicious, crispy and salty potato snack with a glass of wine?
Besides our excitement over this menu item, the CBD bar has an extensive wine list perfect for enjoying inside or outside - which we must save gives v french bistro vibes.
Lottery Win
A girl can dream.
Charlotte Chesnais Triplet Earring
In general Charlotte Chesnais is a brand worthy of a permanent place in Lottery Win and so selecting a single item to include proved extremely difficult. I (Jess) love different styles when it comes to earrings so this Triplet Earring was immediately on my radar with its ear cuff/earring hybrid style which would look cool as part of a bigger stack with a helix or non lobe piercing.
Charlotte Chesnais rings are also worth a look if you are planning your next Lottery Win purchase!
Consumables
What we can’t stop binging.
I (Nic) have always been a magazine girl, but for a good 10 years haven’t found one that I have consistently wanted to pick up. I used to be an ELLE girl, but felt it wasn’t the same after Justine Cullen left in 2018, and then during the great print exodus of 2020 closed down anyway.
However, there seems to be a resurgence of print in Australia - with Elle, Harper’s BAZAAR, InStyle all returning to newsstands and Cosmopolitan recently announcing it will relaunch this year. Personally, InStyle is the best of the bunch, and it’s no surprise I think so given Justine Cullen is Editor-in-Chief.
It’s the perfect balance of shopping, fashion, beauty and interest stories, and the magazine is quarterly meaning I feel like I have enough time to read it before wanting more, rather than having them pile up as I promise myself day-in day-out that I will read it tomorrow.

Joe & the Juice Serrano Sandwich
We all know how much the Joe & the Juice Tunacado sandwich blew up in the past couple of years all thanks to TikTok but I’m (Jess) here to tell you that the real hero of the sandwich menu is the Serrano which I have been consuming way too much for the price.
I’m a huge lover of Italian sandwich flavours (tomato, pesto etc.) which this sandwich nails without feeling too heavy. The crispy Joe’s bread is heaven but when paired with pesto, tomato, avo, prosciutto and mozzarella - game changer.
