Cart Curator #60 - Just Touched Down In London Town
Our first London rec, a Seed Edit and the fancy schmancy luggage that’s on our Lottery Win wishlist.
Hi CC friends,
So Nic ran her marathon on the weekend! She is now in recovery mode and is ready to settle into the long weekend with a red wine in hand.
Jess has arrived in London and spent the weekend catching up with friends and basking in the sun (she managed to get burnt lol).
You might notice that this week’s newsletter looks a little different. We know how long some of our newsletters have been getting and how Gmail loves to cut these off when viewing in the app so from this week Popshop, The Edit and You Asked For It will all be interchangeable depending on what’s happening and the requests we are working through.
Let us know what you think!
Enjoy,
The Edit
This week’s The Edit is one we have been wanting to do for a little bit now and with their latest Autumn/Winter drop we couldn’t not share the pieces that caught our eye.
Seed has been around forever but recently they have been upping their game introducing pieces that we feel have previously sat outside their usual aesthetic and they are so chic.
Kicking off this edit we have the Tailored Longline Bodice which may look a bit familiar as a dress in the same print was one of our Add to Carts last week. Tailored strapless styles have been taking off following the popularity of the tailored vest and this item is so versatile and different, especially given the brown pinstripe.
If you’re like us, sportier pants and trousers have been gracing your FYP sported by fashion girls globally. These Elasticated Pull On Trousers are the perfect example of how to make this trend more wearable for everyday and a large age bracket. These sporty trousers wouldn’t look out of place at work or running around on the weekend and again the brown shade makes them more chic and less tracksuit.
Cropped jackets continue to have their moment this season, as do shearling and fur making the Leather Shearling Jacket the perfect piece to see you through Autumn and Winter. Although this jacket is quite on trend the style will also see you through countless seasons with its minimal accents and timeless cut.
Heading into some accessories I (Jess) am a sucker for an oversized pouch, especially when it’s fabricated in something a bit different and this shearling-like Textured Volume Pouch fits the bill. I love the concept of a pouch for running around on the weekend and the slouchier the better allowing you to bunch it up under your arm avoiding it appearing too nighttime.
This next bag is the perfect night or occasion piece and I (Jess) had been on the hunt for something exactly like this for a wedding last year. The style is different to the more dumpling style occasion bags we have seen everywhere and the Jewelled Shoulder Bag is still relaxed and effortless avoiding the super structured styles we all wore to our formal.
Finishing off with a couple of shoe options, both of which are loafers which are making a major comeback this season. The Keira Fringe Loafer wouldn’t have been out of place in our You Asked For It last week and this leather pair in faux croc are perfect for mixing with those wardrobe items in denim, whites and neutrals for a softer and more monochromatic look.
You can never go wrong with a black pair of loafers and these are a staple for any wardrobe. The Blair Trim Loafer is the perfect example of a quality leather shoe that won’t cost you the world. The gold hardware detailing also adds some interest and depth to the shoe without ripping off any designer styles like the Gucci Horsebit Loafers that we see copied all too often.

Country Road Denim Stripe Skirt
Can Country Road do any wrong? Not likely and especially when it comes to work wear. Baggy pinstripe jeans have been on my wishlist for a while now but I have found this stripe skirt that you won’t be seeing everywhere (or at least to the volume of the baggy jean styles).
This skirt is perfect for wearing into the office transitioning to colder temps easily by pairing it with a knee-high boot and black knit. Big points for the length of this skirt as well as hitting the perfect point on the ankle which is often not the case with a lot of the denim skirts we have seen trending.
COS Off The Shoulder Puff Sleeve Top
I’m a sucker for a crisp white blouse and there’s something about the structure in the bust of this COS top that is so flattering and stops this from feeling too OTT. Besides my love of the tops structured bust, the length of this blouse hits at the perfect place providing shape to the midsection allowing you to pair this with some baggier pants as styled below.

July Everyday Small Tote in Merlot
We know, you’ve seen this one before. We can’t help it - we’re July superfans. So when they told us they had new limited edition colours in their iconic tote we couldn’t not tell you guys.
We’re obsessed with this burgundy colour they call Merlot, which Jess picked up, and I got my hands on the new beige colour Biscuit. We both opted for the small size this time (as we already have the large), and this makes for such a practical option for daily use - not just travel.
I saw Styled by Sara, AKA my current fashion hyper fixation, wearing the jumpsuit version of this and immediately jumped online to see if The Iconic had it in stock.
They didn’t - but what they did have was the top version, which I now think is a much more practical option for me - because I am not Carrie Bradshaw and simply don’t know if I could get away with wearing this around Sydney (at least not in winter anyway…).
Everything about this is perfect, the black and white combination, the straps that make it look like your bra is peeking out. Chuck a blazer on if you need to make it more workplace-appropriate.

HOURGLASS Phantom Volumizing Glossy Balm
As I have previously mentioned I’m not much of a lip product girl but I had been seeing this balm from HOURGLASS everywhere and wandering around Selfridges I thought I would treat myself to a new lip product in the hopes I would like it enough to use something besides my Summer Fridays lip balm.
The product consistency feels super similar to Summer Fridays even given the stick vs squeeze tube forms. A little bit of this product goes a long way to the extent that you can nearly just dab onto the lips instead of swiping it on which you can do if you prefer a bit more colour and gloss. I picked this up in the shade rise which is a perfect neutral nude shade and complements bare or lined lips perfectly.

Nudestix Nudies Matte in Rosy Posy
As you’ve seen me mention here in Beauty Counter before - I love a good blush and we love Nudestix here at CC. I originally wanted to get my hands on Nudestix’s spicy Picante shade (made popular by Sofia Richie), to emulate a summer glow in the cooler months, but ended up falling in love with the colour Rosy Posy.
This shade gives me the perfect naturally flushed cheek, without looking overdone. I love how creamy the Nudestix Nudies formula is, especially given this is one of their matte shades it still blends so easily.
I know they come with a brush on the other side, but I personally don’t use it as I love a finger if I’m in a rush or more of a firm complexion brush like this one from Mecca.
One to Try
Recent openings and discoveries.
Sydney institution Single O has opened up two new shopfronts in the last few months - one in Japan and one in Newstead Brisbane. Whilst the first is a little more exotic, it’s the Brisbane opening that has us at CC excited.
It’s not exactly a new, new opening - having been around for 5-ish months, but if you’ve ever visited the Sydney outpost you’ll understand why there are often queues to get a table at Single O - on both a weekend and weekday. You can expect the same Batch Brew taps a favourite of mine (Nic) and the infamous B&E roll in Brissy.
My only gripe? NO ALMOND MILK. Come on guys, it's 2024 leave the Soy Milk behind.

Rimowa x Aimé Leon Dore Classic Cabin
When Rimowa x Aimé Leon Dore announced they were collaborating, I (Nic) immediately saved this to my wishlist.
The Greek stamp lining, ALD’s signature green, the cognac leather details - everything is perfect for me, except the eye-watering $3,920 price point… Oh, and that’s just for the Cabin sized for “2-3 days of travel”. You’re looking at just under $6K for the chest.
However I will say that a quick Google is showing that people are already reselling them for above their purchase price - dare I say, investment?
Consumables
What we can’t stop binging.
I (Nic) love a cult documentary just as much as the next girl, and I BINGED this in one morning. Dancing for the Devil is a three-part Netflix documentary that follows a cult that is also a talent agency (?).
I don’t want to share any spoilers, but essentially 7M - the cult/talent agency in question - recruited a whole bunch of TikTok dancers into the church through a talent agency.
The best part is that it’s a super recent story, which means that court cases and drama are still unfolding, and you can jump straight onto their socials and see how they are showing up online.

IYKYK
Super specific recs and niche hyper-fixations.
This matcha cafe has been on my (Jess) list for over a year and I missed out on trying it last time I was in London. On my first day here since moving, I was able to snag an iced almond matcha with maple and oh my god I am obsessed. I’m usually a matcha lover but anyone who has this as their go-to way of caffeination knows how hard it can be to find a good one.
I especially love that they had maple as a sweetener which is my preference for any drink but again can be a bit of a niche request! A must-visit for anyone in or visiting London.
