Cart Curator #63 - It’s Vogue’s World, We’re Just Living In It
Explaining what Vogue World ACTUALLY is, an airport Beauty Counter purchase and the series to watch if you loved CHEER as much as we did.
Hi CC friends,
Nic is off to the UK next week, so is doing all the necessary pre-trip things - like a panicked top-up of every skincare/haircare product in mini form, and booking all beauty appointments (hair, nails, lashes). And yes, there will be a CC reunion in London!
Jess spent a long weekend in Montenegro soaking up some much-needed sun (and cocktails) and is now in Copenhagen for the first time (yay!). DM her on IG if you have any must-sees/do’s while she’s here.
Enjoy,

Our favourite pop culture or industry moment of the week.
You’ve probably seen it all over your Instagram and TikTok feeds, but we’re here to answer the question you’re probably asking - What on earth is Vogue World?
We all know that Anna Wintour is the QUEEN of redefining Vogue in the cultural landscape, particularly through events, which is how we assume Vogue World came to be.

Vogue World, now in its third year, has taken over Paris, a perfect storm when you consider that the city will also be hosting the Olympics in a month or so. (This asks a separate question, if the French hate tourists so much - why do they keep hosting global events?).
Vogue World: Paris follows Vogue World: London (2023) and Vogue World: New York (2022), falling during each city’s respective fashion week with a series of Vogue-inspired fashion moments and runways, complete with a who’s who of the hottest names in fashion.
Keep reading for the moments you should know about.
The people’s princess Emma Chamberlain once again reprised her hosting role taking to the Palace Vendome in none other than Rick Owens (probably much to Louis Vuitton’s disappointment). This look is very sensual for Miss Chamberlain, but we approve. She always nails glam, and this was no different.
We love to see more facetime from her after we were STARVED at this year’s Met Gala.
The stand out moment from the entire show would have to be horse-girl’s Kendall and Gigi showing off their riding prowess.

It’s giving Saddle Club in the best way possible.
If riding on horseback through Palace Vendome wasn’t enough, both Gigi and Kendall then went on to walk the runway (on foot - boring).

One thing we love about Vogue World is how many stars - not just models - are incorporated into the runway.
This year Vogue World was grace with none other than women of the moment Sabrina Carpenter who looks like she just stepped off a yacht in the Amalfi Coast. Vibe.

She is single-handedly bringing back GLAMOUR!
Speaking of nautical whoever is running the Vogue Magazine TikTok deserves a raise.
As beauty lovers, we always make an effort to look at the backstage footage. Seeing the wide range of looks spanning numerous aesthetics and time periods tickles something in our brains.
Besides being seen all around Paris with his on again off again girlfriend Kendall (we stopped keeping up), Anna Wintour favourite Bad Bunny performed as part of the show, doing so in a pair of red patent boots.

Remember when we said Katy Perry was gearing up for a big comeback? Throwing this in here to to say we told you so! After announcing her new single in June she walked the runway in Paris, continuing with her comeback tour.
As we mentioned, we love seeing other talents incporated, and who better than the William sisters.

This months hyperfixation has been sourcing the perfect pair of denim overalls after seeing a pair styled on TikTok. I feel like so many pairs can be a bit hit and miss but this style from LEVI’s hits the nail on the head and the way they have been styled online is spot on (always helps when visualising a new purchase). I think these would be such a great transeasonal item to have in my wardrobe and the styling possibilities are endless.
MOTEL Lalita Babydoll Mini Dress In Poplin White
I’ve always been a fan of white poplin for the warmer weather but my feed is currently filled with the Prada Embroidered Cotton Poplin Midi Dress and I can’t get it out of my head. Obviously, that purchase currently sits within the Lottery Win category, so I have been searching for something similar for this Summer and love this MOTEL mini dress in white poplin.
The shape and cut of this mini is really girly and summery but would work well with a chunkier sandal, sneaker, or ideally a loafer for an unexpected pairing.

Despite not being warm (although still as sunny!) as Summer, something about cooler winter weather makes me want to wear a cap.
This classic navy Polo cap from Ralph Lauren, with the iconic teddy bear, is top of my wishlist. Oh, and it’s currently on sale at The Iconic. I’ve never purchased a “nice” cap, mine usually ended up coated in saltwater, being worn at the beach or while working out, so this will be my first foray into a strictly fashion cap.
I’d pair this with a tan trench coat and sneakers. Am I cosplaying a London-er yet Jess?
Note from Jess: You’ll fit in perfectly.
As you guys know, I love my 35mmCo camera and have been capturing photos on a film camera for 2 years, so I’ve got a good collection of prints.
I recently purchased this photo album from Amazon, because I wanted to start displaying the photos in physical form - outside of my iPhone camera roll. This then became a bit of a project for me, organising all my 200+ prints into a timeline, and writing on the back of each where, when the image was taken and who is in it.
I force everyone who comes over to my apartment to take a look through my album (this is not an exaggeration) and I can’t wait until I’m old and I’ll be forcing my future children to browse through, trying to tell them how cool their mother was.
Look, quality wise this is average, it is $23 after all. If you’re wanting something a little studier, I also love 35mmCo’s own album, which was released after I got my hands on this Amazon find, but on the pricier side.

Victoria’s Secret Bombshell Travel Fine Fragrance Mist
When doing long haul travel I have always loved packing a mini body mist in my carry on liquids to include as a little refresher during a stopover or whilst onboard. I will always opt for a mist vs eau de parfum as this doesn’t feel overwhelming scent-wise when you top it up as part of a refresh.
This Victoria’s Secret Bombshell mist has been a long time love of mine and I don’t know whether it’s the nostalgia from having worn it on so many trips before but I am obsessed with the fragrance that is described as having notes of Purple Passion fruit, Shangri-la Peony and Vanilla Orchid.
The bonus is that there is a Victoria’s Secret at nearly every airport so this is so easy to stock up on or even test out when you’re off on your next holiday!
Nicole
I know what you’re thinking - a bar of soap? Really Nicole, in 2024? Yes, but not for body washing reasons (although they do a good job of that too).
Washing my make-up brushes regularly is something I am a stickler for, having battled with breakouts for most of my young adult life (no longer, thank you Accutane!!!). I’ve tried so many things to make the process easier, using dish soap, hand soap and specialty cleaners, but nothing comes as close to being effective as a trusty bar of Dove Soap.
I simply place this in my sink, run warm water over the top and swirl my brushes continuously over the bar until it lathers up, rinse and repeat until the brush is visibly clean and water runs clear.
If you despise cleaning your makeup brushes regularly, because you should be doing it at least every 2 weeks (or so…), then trust me, this will make it so much easier.
One to Try
Recent openings and discoveries.
I (Jess) am a sucker for a good bath house and this new opening in Sydney looks like such a vibe. Besides the beautiful interiors, they offer timed bathing packages with access to their magnesium infused thermal bath, a traditional hot stone sauna, a handcrafted cold plunge, a hammam, and a gently heated lounge with an ice well.
Obvs this is a good treat for yourself but also the perfect gift for friends and family.
Lottery Win
A girl can dream.
I mean, I think anyone who has their own personal reformer at home is bougie (even if you bought it as an Aldi Special Buy), so when Celine released their own, you just know this is for a Lottery Win only.
The Reformer machine, clad in the iconic Triomphe printed brown leather, is part of a wider Wellness collection by the brand which also included a Calfskin Kettlebell and Yoga Brick.
FYI, the website says “Call to Order” on these, which we’re interpreting as “if you have to enquire what the price is, you can’t afford it”.

AMERICA’S SWEETHEARTS: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders
I have not been able to stop talking about this show/doco since I (Jess) watched it while in Montenegro (this was the perfect no-talking hour activity following a day of sun). The Netflix show gives insight into the process of auditioning and recruiting for the 2023 DCC team as well as select members’ back stories and of course, the powerhouse brand that is now the Dallas Cowboys.
The show is equal parts interesting and disturbing, a bit like a car crash that you can’t look away from whilst watching the lengths these women go to, to make the team and hearing the unfiltered feedback from the coaches. My new toxic trait is absolutely thinking that I could make the team (watch the show and you will understand why this is so funny).
IYKYK
Super specific recs and niche hyper-fixations.
I (Nic) was going back and forth about putting this as my Beauty Counter recommendation, but I felt it was more appropriate for IYKYK.
I unashamedly get my hair cut at Just Cuts, and I am here to convince you to do the same. If you get layers, a fringe, colour or anything else technical, this isn’t for you - sorry - but for my girls who literally just want a cut, Just Cuts is the way to go.
Fast, cost effective and they get the job done. I have a bob, so I’m constantly cutting my hair to keep it at the right length, so this is the easiest way for maintenance honestly.
Give it a try, what have you got to lose (other than your hair?).
