Cart Curator #22 - Divorce is in Vogue
Why everyone in Hollywood is seemingly getting divorced, summer shirt recs by the dozen and the YouTube workouts we always come back too.
Hi CC friends,
Welcome back to another Cart Curator.
Jess is currently in Berlin, after a stint in London and is loving being back overseas again (especially when it’s warmer this time in Berlin).
Nic has been warming up under this Sydney sun and is well and truly ready for Summer now. We’ve had a few questions about more summer-specific buys (swimwear, dresses, singlets, how to wear crochet etc etc.) so we’re going to spread these out over a few weeks of YAFI.
She’s also completely binged the book Glossy we spoke briefly about last week. So. Many. Thoughts. Let me know if you’ve read it, so we can discuss.
Two Apple TV recommendations for you. Firstly, Hijak is an excellent watch that keeps you on the edge of your seat, with each episode ending on a cliffhanger. This one is best for those who don’t get anxious about flying. Apple also drops The Super Models today, a tell-all documentary from the 4 OG Super Models who dominated the 80s and 90s.
Enjoy,
You Asked For It
A fun one this week! Our YAFI is finding a Camp Collar shirt to add into rotation this Spring/Summer. We love this item for two reasons. It’s so easy to style, especially trans-seasonally. Think denim shorts vs jeans, tailored linen shorts vs trousers and so on. Secondly, you can just as easily wear this to work, as you can to the beach or afternoon drinks. Bonus third reason, sometimes they come in matching sets, which make for a failsafe outfit that requires 0 brain power (big fan).
Kicking off with something colourful, the VRG GRL’s Flora on Film shirt gets our approval for many reasons. Linen fabrication, boxy fit, deep collar and artsy motifs.
CC favourite, DISSH, always has a great selection of prints in their “Vacation Shirt” style, including this geo print shirt and the below linen shirt option which is out pick for Australian Summer.
This style is a staple in every Ventoy collection with several pieces currently online, and we anticipate more to come as they continue to drop their Summer items. Make sure to look at both the men’s and women’s sections, especially if you’re after something a little more luxe in a silk fabrication. In the same price category, Oroton has a healthy selection, like the Patterned Patch Label Shirt in Linen from their Resort collection or the Lace Detail option as seen below.

Popshop
Our favourite pop culture or industry moment of the week.
It started with a wave of celebrity marriage breakdowns that we didn’t care so much about (sorry Reese Witherspoon and Jeremy Allen White) moved into dangerous territory when Sophie and Joe Turner announced their split and even locally Anna Paul and Glen Thompson weren’t safe.
Sure, there might be a number of legitimate reasons as to why this suddenly feels like a tidal wave of divorces - pandemic fallout, Venus retrograde or the allure of single girl summer - but we’re surely not alone in wondering what on earth is going on, and more importantly, who is next?!
Additionally, the pressure for us - both the famous and the non famous - to share only the positive insights into our relationships online makes it always seem like these splits come completely out of left field. The now stereotypical notes app announcement is usually preceded by a doting declaration of love.
So, in case you missed it here are some of the relationships that didn’t make it.
This TikTok sums up all of the big ones.
An attempted conscious uncoupling turned PR warfare that only seemingly gets messier and messier (see below).
ICONIC.
No one is immune clearly.

Em Rata is rewriting the narrative, claiming that she personally finds it chic to be divorced by the age of 30. We kind of agree.
Anna Paul’s split from Glen had the internet declaring that love is no longer real.
Ariana Grande finalised her divorce, in news everyone saw coming.

DISSH Tilly White Linen Longline Vest
DISSH recently launched their Cruise collection including this white linen Longline Vest which bears a striking resemblance to the Emma Vest by Posse which is currently on back order following the Sofia Richie effect.
The DISSH version is such a classic style and cut and comes in at nearly half the price which isn’t too shabby if you ask me.
Uniqlo Men’s Woven Striped Trunks
Cotton shorts are a must for Summer and are the perfect option for running around doing errands, getting coffee, post beach etc. and I’m loving seeing the boxer short style gain in popularity recently. One pair that has been blowing up in particular are the Uniqlo Men’s Woven Striped Trunks which are the perfect length, bagginess, colour and most importantly price at only $9.90.
I recently snagged these at the Singapore airport and am in love (FYI these run small) as they are currently sold out in AUS. Be sure to keep an eye out for when they restock.

The slightly oversized stripe shirt is the easiest way to look put together with minimal effort. No one does a good shirt like Australian brand LMND, and their newest colours have caught my eye for summer. Their signature Chiara shirt is a lightweight cotton (read - breathable), has a slight relaxed fit and has a pair of matching shorts.
The brand is also a favourite of Leandra Medine, who has posted several times about her love for the button-up.
I can’t go past a classic blue and white stripe (on sale here at Glue Store), but have also got my eyes on the raspberry colourway in the short sleeve.
Wear with a pair of denim shorts (I like these vintage looking ones from DISSH) or with the aforementioned matching Chiara Short for the easiest outfit in existence.
Before I went on holiday’s I purchased Venroy’s Bias Skirt in black, and it has quickly become one of the harder working pieces in my wardrobe. I’ve found myself wearing it to the beach, (with a bikini as a top), to work (layered with a nice shirt - see above options) and on the weekend with a cropped tee or singlet).
I’d been planning to purchase the sand colour, when I came across a very similar version from Cotton On, which is a third of the price. Their Haven Skirt, also available in black, white and a sandy taupe colour. The blend isn’t 100% linen like Venroy’s, but linen does make majority of the blend - which is enough for me.
Simple, chic, versatile - I think I’ll get the white too.

DR. BRONNER'S Lavender Organic Hand Sanitizer
As someone who is forever unwell (I’m currently sick which is a true testament to this statement) I have continued with the constant use of hand sanitiser following the pandemic. However I can’t stand rubbing what smells like cheap tequila on my hands.
I love this spray sanitiser from DR. BRONNER in lavender as it smells soothing and calming when you spray it and makes sanitising constantly feel like something luxe rather than a chore.
Nicole
I love using a plethora of products and nominating specific ones for specific occasions - a morning body oil, PM body lotion, gym perfume, beach body spray etc. So, I usually shy away from a multi-use product, with the notion that a beauty product should be designed for one thing only and just do that one thing really well. But, I was gifted this lotion and wanted to put it to the test. This is definitely one of those products you have to try to really understand what it is all about. The texture takes a little getting used to - it’s super sticky, with quite a sweet scent. Think of it as a spot treatment, but for dryness. I’ve been rubbing this on all my dry spots non stop; elbows, cuticles, lips etc, which has made this a handbag essential.
One to Try
Recent openings and discoveries of the food and beverage kind.
From the team behind Ezra, Raja is a buzzy new contemporary Indian eatery in Sydney’s Potts Points. A love letter to Mumbai, Raja pushes the boundaries of what you know about Indian food, with a killer drinks list to match.
Lottery Win
A girl can dream.
I (Nic) love Roxanne Assoulin’s spirited beaded jewellery, and feel like they would be such a fun way to jazz up an all white outfit in Summer.
But, at almost $400 but three enamel bracelets, I’m left wondering if I should just take myself down to Spotlight, buy a bead making kit and make my own version for less than $50. I won’t, but it’s nice to know that I could while I lust over these.
IYKYK
Super specific recs and niche hyper-fixations.
Samantha Clarke YouTube Pilates
Whilst Jess has been a long-time fan of Sami Clarke’s workouts, she only introduced me (Nic) to them in Positano where we had balcony Pilates seshes.
Sami started out sharing free workouts across Youtube and Instagram (which we used it Positano), most being sans equipment and has since launched her own app - FORM - which Jess has also tried and loves.
I (Nic) am not usually one to reach for my phone for a workout, preferring to get a sweat on in a group class, specifically if someone is shouting at me and I’ve paid an obscene amount of money to be there. However, Sami’s short Youtube workouts (most of the sessions are 5 - 30 minutes) make for an easy, free and enjoyable way to get a quick sweat in at home.
If I’m feeling spicy I’ll do these with my Bala Bangles around my ankles, but trust us when we say that even alone these are burners.
