Cart Curator #12 - in collaboration with Madeleine Edwards
Madeleine Edwards shares her recs, the power of a press tour stylist, a chiccy fruit bowl and graduating from Depop.
Hi CC friends,
We’ve finally been reunited in Puglia and our trip has literally been a (content) dream so far.
Dolce & Gabbana also hosted their latest show here this week. No comment on the brand but the pictures are lovely.
ALSO, Princess Britney has announced the details of her memoir, which has shot straight to the top of our must-read lists.
Ok, let’s get into it, because in other exciting news, we have our first Cart Curator Collaborator joining us this week!
As an FYI, when we have our amazing collaborators onboard we will still share our recs in You Asked for It and Popshop, with our collaborator taking the reins from there on out with their personal recs. Without further ado, we are so excited to introduce Maddie, one of our favourite creators who we have known personally for years and one you have no doubt seen across Instagram or TikTok.
A bit about Maddie:
"My main personality trait is that I’m the eldest of 5 girls. Being a big sister is who I am in this life. I’m a beauty therapist turned full time beauty and skin content content creator, and my goal is to help my audience love and accept themselves”
We hope you love her recs as much as we do,
You Asked for It
We’ve both been on a statement earring kick lately brought on by a Heaven Mayhem find in a previous newsletter. We’ve had a request come through for some fun earwear, which is our favourite way to jazz up an outfit.
Starting with an affordable option, we can’t go past Lovisa. Navigating Lovisa is an art form, as you need to sort through shelves and shelves to find gold. Some of our current favourites are the Gold Plated Molten Irregular Freshwater Pearl Drop Earrings and the Rhodium Chunky Melted Stud Earrings.
Next up is the Air Mixed from Heaven Mayhem, which I’m (Nicole) a fan of due to the mixed metals which I’m increasingly leaning into as I fill out my jewellery wardrobe.
Lastly are the Metallic Shell earrings from none other than Mango (surprise, another rec from our faves). These are awaiting their debut from Jessica in Positano.
Popshop
Our favourite pop culture or industry moment of the week.
This week we’re observing the power of a good press tour wardrobe, à la Jennifer Lawrence. Lawrence is currently touring for No Hard Feelings - her return to film after a significant (and well-missed) hiatus.
The actress has always been deemed a “cool girl” by the press, but the outfits she’s being papped in have moved her from cool to credible fashion star. She’s been spotted both on the streets and work commitments in The Row, the ultimate IYKYK luxury brand and the fastest way to cement your fashion status.

On a similar plane is Margot Robbie, who is leaning heavily into Barbie nostalgia ahead of the release of the movie (9 days, we’re counting). Robbie’s outfits have not just taken inspiration from archival Barbie outfits but straight up emulated the doll’s many many looks over the years.
We know credit is due here to the stylists behind these looks, working overtime to create waves of press around the movies and stars, whilst simultaneously elevating them in the fashion world.
One to watch for us is Glee alumni Diana Agron, a name you probably haven’t heard in a while. Agron’s started working with the crème de la crème of stylists, so undoubtedly is vying for some bigger roles.

I recently purchased some Uggs, because Melbourne Winter is BRUTAL and I just want to be comfy all the time. I am so obsessed. I wear them inside and outside because they actually look really cute with jeans and the platform stops the sheepskin part from getting gross outside.
Freedom Giant Clam Decorative Bowl
I saw my friend post about her fruit bowl on IG stories the other day, and it was this divine Giant Clam Shell Bowl from Freedom, and I think I need it. It’ll fit into our little coastal styled home really nicely but my only issue is that I never have more than a banana or two in the house at once, which will probably look stupid in that massive bowl. I guess we’ll see.

Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupte Shine
I don’t know how, but before the other day, I’d never tried any YSL Beauty products (???) Well, now I’m in love with this lipstick. It’s the YSL Rouge Volupté Shine Lipstick Balm. It is pure perfection. It’s got a sheer-medium pigment, it’s so hydrating and it’s got this beautiful shine. It sounds like a gloss but it’s definitely more of a lipstick/balm hybrid. It’s not sticky or thick at all. I just feel like everyone needs one. My favourite shade is 121 Beige Satin but there are so many shades, so I’m going to have to get some more.
One to Try
Recent openings and discoveries of the food and beverage kind.
I’m dying to go to this new cocktail bar in Melbourne called Apollo Inn. It’s by the same people who are behind Gimlet, so you know it’s gonna be good. I feel like I’ve finally exited my clubbing era, and now it’s time to get drunk on expensive cocktails with girlfriends in places where we can actually hear each other talk.
Lottery Win
A girl can dream.
Valentino Stretch Cotton Jumpsuit
I don’t let my mind wander too much when it comes to things I can’t afford otherwise I’ll get in a bad mood. But why is everything Valentino so perfect right now? The Valentino Garavani Stretch-Cotton Open Back Cargo Jumpsuit is so timeless and androgynously sexy. I’m obsessed and now I’m in a bad mood and wondering how much I really want/need two kidneys.
IYKYK
Super specific recs and niche hyper-fixations.
I’m on a personal style journey. I’ve been thrifting way more because I feel like it’s a lot easier to decide whether you really like a piece and can imagine yourself wearing it, or if you just feel like you want it because it’s trendy and you’re seeing it on every hottie influencer out there.
I’ve been living on Vestiare Collective and I feel like a stylish, environmentally conscious princess. I’ve bought so many second-hand designer clothing items on here that I otherwise might not be able to find or afford! It feels like a grown-up girl’s Depop and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to find clothes that genuinely fit their personal style.
