Cart Curator #3 - Rebrand at Tiffany's
Tiffany's looks to Gen Z to reclaim cool, bringing back Ballerina Flats and the bathroom essential for your tongue.
Seemingly out of nowhere, the temperature dropped a lovely 20 degrees this week, and we’ve gone from tees to trenches.
On that note, if you have any requests or there is any category of item you’d like to see recommendations for, please let us know and we can trawl through the internet so you don’t have to.Â
We’ve also added a new section called One to Try which will include any new openings or restaurant finds that have made their way onto our shared need-to-try list (for when we are both in the same city).
And, if you are enjoying seeing us in your inbox weekly, please share with your friends/family/colleagues/acquaintances/exes and have them subscribe. It would honestly mean the world, and they will be better dressed because of it.
Let’s jump straight into it.Â
Jess and Nicole x
Popshop
Our favourite pop culture or industry moment of the week.
There was no specific pop culture moment that jumped out for us this week (no, we aren’t living under a rock, we are well aware that the King's Coronation happened - no comment).
We’re a few weeks late to the party (literally) but at the end of April Tiffany & Co. unveiled their renovated Fifth Avenue store with a guest list of Hollywood’s who’s who including Jacob Elordi, Hailey Bieber, Florence Pugh, Barbara Palvin and co.Â
The glam soiree and following onslaught of paid content had us discussing the slow but steady renovation of Tiffany & Co.’s image over the last few years. Because we can’t turn our PR brains off, we felt this was an interesting case study on the wider heritage brand hustle to appeal to the new generation as Gen Z’s expenditure grows (Louis Vuitton, we’re also looking at you).
Tiffany’s clearly had a chokehold on millennials, and the first thing that comes to mind is likely their iconic Return To Tiffany line. You can’t deny that you never begged your parents for a Return to Tiffany Heart Tag Pendant after seeing your cool cousin unwrap one at Christmas.
In January this year, the brand launched the Tiffany Lock collection (their first all-gender line) following the continued success of the Tiffany Hardwear collection, appointing Blackpink’s Rosé as a new ambassador.
Now, Tiffany’s is 186 years old, so you’d be safe to say they know how to manage a marketing refresh, and as most business rollouts typically go, this most likely started many years back and has been a gradual work in progress since. I mean the brand had Beyoncé herself (oh, and Jay-Z) usher in the new era for the brand in June 2022.
It’d be remiss to not mention that in January 2021 LVMH acquired Tiffany’s for a cool $15.8 billion USD and swiftly started the revamp.
Ok, now let us present some recent evidence:
And the Lock Bangle being sported by none other than our current reigning it girl…

Mango Irregular Flower Strass Earrings
I feel like we have been clothing and shoe heavy the past weeks, so switching gears and giving this stunning pair of earrings some airtime.
I have been on the lookout for something fun for an upcoming event and these rhinestone earrings are super fun - I’m particularly into how they sit slightly onto the cheek and would look beautiful with a sleek pony or bun.
At only $29.95 this pair are inexpensive and can be squeezed into the tight Euro budget (justifying my purchases here, leave me be).
Lover Lucia Long Sleeve Mini DressÂ
I have been ogling the Camilla and Marc Gordon Mini Dress as a Winter staple purchase and can be styled in endless ways (a blazer and a chunky boot spring to mind). However, I have just stumbled upon the Lover's Lucia Long Sleeve Mini Dress which is nearly identical and comes in at a fraction of the price ($220 vs $600).
This dress is tailored in all the right places and I especially love the neckline which is slightly higher than that of the Camilla and Marc.

Mansur Gavriel Dream BallerinaÂ
This recommendation is unequivocally the fault of Matilda Djerf. A true testament to the cyclical nature of fashion, ballet flats have been sitting non-committedly on my wish list for several months now. Perhaps one of the reasons I’m yet to purchase is that I’m still dealing with the hangover of the last time they were popular.
But, I think the time has come and I’ve got my eye on this classic style from Mansur Gavriel. They have an ideal balance of heel, toe coverage and bow, and the leather (lambskin) looks impressively soft.
I hesitate to share this second and more affordable option, as I almost want to gatekeep this store. JONAK Paris has this patent version, with a semi-rounded toe and slightly higher heel. I plan to purchase these when I spend a few days in Paris at the tail-end of my upcoming travels.Â
For styling, refer once again to Matilda.Â

Finally! A colourful item in Add to Cart!
A silk slip dress is essential in my wardrobe and one that clocks up the gold star for cost-per-wear based on its versatility. In summer I’ll wear it on its own with a sneaker (day) or heels (night), layer a t-shirt or turtleneck underneath in-between seasons or wear a chunky knit over the top in winter.Â
This fuchsia number was a pre-Mallorca purchase, intended to be styled with a pair of gemstone earrings (or even Jess’s flower option above) and a slicked bun.Â
NOTE: So, I did actually purchase this on Depop for a very reasonable price. We spoke about snagging a bargain on Depop in last week’s IYKYK.

Smashbox x Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector
When the beloved Becca Cosmetics shut up shop in 2021 (RIP) a few of their most well-loved SKUs lived to see another day being re-released by Smashbox as collaboration products.
One of the few products to survive was the Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector which is like 9 hours of sleep in a pot. The tiniest dab of this corrector (and nothing else) is enough to erase a bad night’s sleep (or a big weekend), leaving under eyes with a hydrated, luminous finish.
This product also sits beautifully under concealer (my favourite right now is the Kosas Revealer Concealer) and has the ability to cover my dark circles - which I had never been able to fully cover without heavy creasing or cakey-looking under eyes.Â

I’ve officially transitioned to my winter scent, which is Loewe’s 001 Woman EDP (for those wondering my summer scent is Diptyque’s Geranium Odorata).
It has a slight heavy-ness, depth and warmth to it that I lean into during the cooler months, and works both day and night.
Loewe describes it as a fresh yet warm scent that combines notes of jasmine, linen and musk. And I agree. My favourite thing about this perfume? You don’t end up smelling like everyone else (*cough* Santal 33 and Baccarat Rouge 540 *cough*).
Lottery Win
A girl can dream.
New York brand Khaite (pronounced Kate) is undoubtedly the cool girl brand of the moment.
On our radar initially thanks to that viral Katie Holmes moment, they do an exceptional and eye-wateringly expensive cashmere piece.
We know cashmere is an investment item, but at $3,290 for this hoodie, we’re saving this for when we hit the Powerball jackpot.
NOTE: If you are looking for something cashmere in our actual price range, Uniqlo do some great, affordable pieces.
One to Try
Recent openings and discoveries of the food and beverage kind.
Merivale’s latest creation today opened its doors to Oti’, an inner-city hole-in-the-wall serving sandwiches and pizza by the slice. Sandwiches are having a real moment (we’re looking at you Smalls Deli) and this opening has definitely caught our attention. If their bread is anywhere as good as the notorious Totti’s puffy bread then we’re onboard.
IYKYK
Super specific recs and niche hyper-fixations.
If you don’t already own one, it’s time to get yourself a tongue scraper.
If this is the first time you are hearing those words, to briefly sum it up a Tongue Scraper is a stainless steel or copper U-shaped apparatus used daily in the AM to scrape whatever that white furry stuff is that lives on your tongue (technical we know). Now we’ve painted a rough (very rough) picture of this object, let’s chat benefits. An ancient Ayurvedic practice, scraping helps to remove bacteria and debris that builds up on the tongue overnight, improving breath, your sense of taste and your immune system with consistent use.
If you’re not sold already our lord and goop-y saviour Gwyneth has shared that this is a staple in her morning routine - if this doesn’t get you across the line, I truly don’t know what will.
You can pick one of these up for around $10 to $15 at most health-food stores, or online Wellness and Beauty stores, such as Adore Beauty.
Ciao for now, and don’t forget to share!
